Graduate spotlight on Rose
Say hello to Rose, one of our newest recruits! Rose joined us this September as a Graduate Software Developer from Royal Holloway University of London.
It's only been a couple of months since she started, but here's how she's getting on...
Rose on getting started:
Coming into Focal Point Position as my first job was a bit nerve-wracking, but they welcomed me with open arms. Any fears I had were melted away by the warm environment that has been cultivated in the office. The best part for me was their “buddy" system, which connects graduates with senior developers, it gave me the day-to-day support I needed to get a running start as a software engineer.
Rose on culture:
The atmosphere is very relaxed and open, we have weekly lunches to help us bond outside the office and build the trust and rapport that leads to such productive collaboration. There is an integrated culture all throughout the company - it feels like your problem is everyone’s problem and vice versa, we all just want our products to be the best they can be. The people here have more expertise and experience than me in an array of topics, and they help me learn how to avoid many common pitfalls and also how to handle problems more effectively in the future.
Rose on the work:
It’s a very exciting opportunity to be working on cutting-edge technology, solving problems that few people in the world have encountered, as well as building all the tools we need. It’s a the perfect melting-pot to apply my problem solving skills to a plethora of unexpected but interesting problems. It’s also a great place to learn new skills and techniques to approach these challenges. Every evening I find myself running new ideas through my head to bring to work the next morning!
At present we don't have any graduate roles available, however, we are keen to receive CVs for Graduates starting from August/September 2020. To find out more, please email our HR Manager, Becky Read: email@example.com
