Supercorrelation™ is a patented, chipset-level software that improves the accuracy and reliability of GNSS receivers, revolutionising the positioning ability of vehicles, mobiles and wearables in challenging environments.
Its unique ability to discriminate the angle-of-arrival of satellite signals allows GNSS receivers to focus on the line-of-sight signals, ignoring all others, without the need for high-cost antennas.
With Supercorrelation™, OEMs, chipset makers, and location-based service providers can build groundbreaking technologies that make a tangible difference to everyday users.
Supercorrelation™ mitigates the degradation in accuracy caused by multipath in urban areas, forested roads, and highways with sound walls.
Supercorrelation™ boosts GNSS receiver sensitivity radio signals by up to 10 dB, optimising the performance of hidden antennas and maintaining location tracking when signals are attenuated.
Supercorrelation™ makes GNSS more reliable by filtering out reflected and fake signals, so position estimates remain accurate and trustworthy.
As the foundational technology that enables our S-GNSS® product, Supercorrelation™ is designed for the modern system-on-a-chip silicon architecture used by all consumer GNSS receivers. It provides a highly accessible and cost-effective solution to improving GNSS receiver reliability, directly from the chip.
It requires no extra hardware or infrastructure and fits into existing architecture as a software upgrade.
By removing the effects of reflected signals and multipath interference – the biggest sources of error in urban canyons – it allows metre-level positioning to be maintained on consumer devices in the most challenging signal environments.
Whilst GNSS has remarkable capabilities, one of its most significant limitations is multipath interference caused by signals bouncing off buildings, trees, or other obstacles before reaching the GNSS receiver. This leads to inaccuracies in positioning and timing measurements, resulting in errors in determining the user’s position.
Supercorrelation™ is the only software-based GNSS technology capable of determining the arrival angle of signals, enabling line-of-sight determination and the removal of non-line-of-sight (NLOS) signals from the positioning solution.
Supercorrelation™ improves accuracy by overcoming the challenges of multipath interference. It also enhances security by identifying and rejecting the external radio signals that can spoof traditional GNSS setups.
