FocalPoint and ST present S-GNSS® Auto on Teseo receivers, along with multi-city benchmarking data from Frankfurt, London, and Chicago.
GNSS positioning accuracy degrades in environments where the direct line of sight to satellites is obstructed or reflected: urban canyons, tree-lined roads, and highway underpasses. In these conditions, non-line-of-sight and multipath signals reach the receiver alongside (or instead of) direct signals, which can shift the position output by several metres. For ADAS and autonomous functions that depend on lane-level positioning, this limits the environments in which the function can be relied upon.
On October 14, FocalPoint and STMicroelectronics are running a live session on their integrated approach to this problem and how OEMs and Tier 1s can evaluate it. The webinar is being run in collaboration with Automotive World.
The solution under discussion
FocalPoint’s S-GNSS® Auto is a software that improves the accuracy and reliability of GNSS in challenginge environments. Integrated on STMicroelectronics Teseo receivers, the joint solution has been evaluated and benchmarked in cities and forested roads worldwide, outperforming other commercially available solutions. Improved GNSS reliability provides the ADAS stack a trustworthy location to rely on, extending the set of environments in which automated driving features can operate.
The session includes global benchmarking data comparing S-GNSS® Auto with other commercially available options, along with recent multi-city results from Frankfurt, London, and Chicago.
What the session covers
- Why conventional GNSS degrades in tough environments such as urban canyons and forested roads
- How S-GNSS® Auto integrates with ST’s Teseo receivers
- What the latest multi-city benchmarking data from Frankfurt, London, and Chicago shows
- What improved positioning reliability enables for autonomous driving and ADAS use cases
- How OEMs and Tier 1s can evaluate S-GNSS® Auto using available evaluation kits
