According to a 2021 roadway survey, “crashes injure millions of people each year and impose a comprehensive cost on society of more than one trillion dollars”.
Advancements in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) aim to reduce accidents considerably and could potentially reduce this by as much as 90%.
Consistently accurate positioning to a lane level is a key requirement for autonomous systems to work safely and reliably in cities. Current solutions use a combination of traditional GNSS (widely known as GPS), together with imaging systems. Current GNSS systems suffer from environmental interference, causing satellite signals to bounce off buildings, cars and other objects, leading to inaccuracy and a consequent lack of confidence.
Supporting accurate positioning for autonomous cars and driver assistance platforms, Supercorrelation technologies, has the potential to:
Provide lane-level positioning accuracies in more challenging environments than currently possible
Transform the insurance industry
Reduce congestion and help make roads safer
Help facilitate a reduction in human error
Transport goods faster and more efficiently
Be resilient to spoofing attacks, enabling safe & secure GPS navigation

Improving accuracy and safety of in-car navigation systems
Supercorrelation technologies make navigation and positioning more accurate, especially in dense urban environments. Real-world testing has improved GNSS measurements by up to 10 times, enabling lane-level positioning. This improvement to GNSS means we are one step closer to achieving full autonomy - traditionally, such improvements could only be achieved by adding unrealistically large and expensive antenna arrays.
Critically, Supercorrelation provides high resilience against cyber attacks and spoofing, caused by the ability to trick or falsify your location from potential signal interruption. Thanks to Supercorrelation, drivers can have total confidence they will be able to arrive safely and securely at their destination.
