FocalPoint Positioning is an exciting start-up, backed by some of the biggest names in the tech industry and we are on a journey to revolutionise the positioning, navigation, and timing of smartphones and vehicles. We have created technologies that have rewritten the textbooks on how GPS works and are looking for talented scientists and engineers to join our team to help bring our products to the world.

Location: Flexible/Remote - (travel to offices Bristol/Cambridge and other sites may be required)

Backed by some of the largest names in the global tech industry, our Supercorrelation and D-Tail technologies can transform the capability of all GNSS systems worldwide.

The Opportunity:

  • Own the mission, strategy, budget and execution for all marketing initiatives

  • Lead growth marketing, brand marketing, product marketing and PR and Communications to ensure consistency across all touch-points

  • Develop a marketing vision and strategy for Europe, East Asia and North American regions to promote our product offerings

  • Support key commercial areas to drive a strong brand and increased product awareness whilst helping operational teams on their respective agendas using your direct customer and industry awareness

  • In collaboration with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and other commercial owners, own the execution of all direct and digital channel customer acquisitions, optimising lead generation and devising strategies to deliver on FocalPoint’s commercial goals.

  • Own the delivery of a strong Public Relations strategy, raising both company and product awareness within our target industries.

  • Assist the Executive Team with product innovation, development and management for all market sectors including the support of testing and rollout of new product features, pricing and value propositions.

  • Oversee our external communication strategy with current and future investors, trade and industry journalists and industry bodies to ensure they continue to promote and improve a positive awareness of our company, brand, products and the broader industry.

  • Be a customer champion for internal teams, helping to bring rich, actionable customer insight to product and engineering teams

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience of developing Marketing and Communications strategies that support business growth, product development and brand value for B2B businesses across multiple customer segments
  • Strong business acumen and a solid understanding of the dynamics of B2B tech marketing
  • A passion for understanding emerging technologies, especially around the navigation and positioning environments and how they can be marketed and communicated within and outside FocalPoint
  • Strong presentation skills and experience of articulating company information and business strategies, both externally to customers and industry stakeholders and internally to product and engineering teams, investors.
  • Experience in building partnerships and relationships with proven ability to influence
  • Ability to operate with agility and be comfortable to carve out a strategy where there is ambiguity
  • Clear experience in empowering people to take thoughtful risks using every experience as an opportunity to drive a culture of innovation and growth

Other Desirables:

  • MBA or similar qualification in Marketing Management

  • Strong track record of building product and proposition growth strategies and plans

  • Strong communication and writing skills in English and ability to work across business lines, presenting to the Executive Team, investors, customers and other associates

  • Previous B2B experience essential, and experience ideally within a technological environment

  • Solid knowledge of SEO, web analytics and Google Adwords

  • Experience of speaking to the press and at public events

  • Ability to rapidly process information and understand and prioritise competing business needs
